Salem, Oregon (February 28, 2002) - Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) announced today that it has increased the annual income limits for its Residential Loan Program, a below-market interest rate loan program serving low and moderate income Oregonians, and other applicable multi-family programs administered by the department. "We are excited about the increased income limits because we now have the opportunity to help more Oregon families find affordable housing," said Bob Repine, OHCS Director.

Now, more first-time homebuyers can purchase a home utilizing the below-market interest rate home loan program. Bills passed in the 2001 Legislative Session transferred the Program from the Department of Consumer and Business Services, Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OR-OSHA) to OHCS, and strengthened the Program to encourage more construction and rehabilitation of housing for farmworkers around the state.
