Salem, Oregon (December 13, 2004) – Oregon Housing and Community Service’s (OHCS) new Report on Poverty 2004 provides both a national and a local perspective on poverty. The report pulls together data from the US Census, Oregon Department of Revenue, Oregon Department of Human Services, Oregon Employment Department and a variety of federal and independent studies to paint a picture of poverty in Oregon.

State Approves Housing Units Adding Nearly $108 Million In Economic Value to State's Economy

Salem, Oregon (December 3, 2004) – Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) announces the funding of 16 affordable housing developments through the Fall 2004 Consolidated Funding Cycle (CFC). Together, these projects will provide 562 units of affordable housing for Oregonians and add nearly $108 million in economic value to the state’s economy. These units are targeted for low-income individuals, families, elderly, developmentally disabled, ex-offenders, survivors of domestic violence, homeless and farmworkers.

These awards are presented for outstanding achievement during the past two years to promote, provide or implement service-oriented programs, or to meet a specific need for services in a community.

Oregon Receives $16 Million in Low-Income Energy Assistance Funds

Salem, Oregon (November 23, 2004) - Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) announces the award of $16 million in Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) funds for the State of Oregon. LIEAP is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services designed to help low-income households with home heating costs.
